Moving towards the final month of 2014/2015, the Fasset team is busy assessing the Discretionary Grant applications and preparing for the Mandatory Grant deadline of 30 April 2015.

The QCTO has confirmed that most of the Fasset qualifications will be re-registered. Refer to point number 4 to find out more.

Mandatory Grant Reminder

Employers and government departments are reminded that the Mandatory Grant deadline is 30 April 2015. Large and medium employers as well as government departments will only be able to submit their grants online. The online process will open 1 March 2015. Learnership Costs Survey February 2015

Fasset will soon be conducting research which will inform the structuring of grants to be paid to employers implementing learnerships. Should you be currently implementing learnerships in your firm, please assist us by completing the survey when distributed.
QCTO re-registers qualifications for an additional three year period

The qualifications registered on the Occupational Qualification Sub-framework (OQSF) are due to expire on 30 June 2015. Confirmation has been received from the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) that all active qualifications will be re-registered for an additional three year period with a two year teach-out period. A total of 143 inactive qualifications will be deregistered, 4 of which fall within Fasset's scope of quality assurance. The remaining 37 qualifications within Fasset's scope of quality assurance will be re-registered. Follow the links below to view the communication:
