The Fasset team have been hard at work starting as early as the first few days in January dealing with grants, sending out event invitations, planning for the year ahead, as well as doing some project visits.

Compulsory Tax Clearance and BEE Certificates required for all bids and tenders to Fasset
Please note that original, valid SARS Tax Clearance and BEE Certificates must accompany all bid proposals to Fasset and must be valid at the date of closing of the bid. In the case of consortium/joint venture or where the sub-contractors are utilised, an original valid SARS Tax Clearance Certificate for each consortium/joint venture member and/or sub-contractor (individual) must be submitted.

Sneak peak at Lifelong Learning
For a look at which Free Lifelong Learning events Fasset will be offering in the upcoming year click here. This will assist you in planning for your firm's training and can also be included in your Workplace Skills Plan for the upcoming year.
Fasset invitations
Fasset invitations to the free Lifelong Learning events are sent out via email, and then via fax a week before the commencement of the first event. Please ensure that the emails are not directed to your junk mail folder so that you are able to respond to the invitation timeously and avoid disappointment, by securing your registration early.
Mandatory and Pivotal Grant
The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) released draft funding regulations concerning Mandatory and Pivotal Grant applications. The public is invited to respond to, and comment on, the grant regulations. Written responses should reach the Department at the address below not later than 2 February 2012 (21 days from the publication of the notice). Grant application forms
Fasset will not be able to release Mandatory and Pivotal Grant application forms for 2012 until clarity has been obtained from DHET on the required format of these grant application forms. Please watch the Fasset website and
e-Facts for updates in this regard.
Green Paper for Post-School Education and Training
The public is invited to respond to the Green Paper for Post-School Education and Training. Written responses should reach the Department of Higher Educationa nd Training (DHET) not later than 30 April 2012. DHET will also be engaged in a series of bilateral and multilateral consultations with stakeholders from January to the end of April 2012. Learnership Agreements
Employers are reminded to make use of the learnership agreement that is on Fasset's website. Any other learnership agreement that is received will result in the agreement being rejected.
Expiry of Unit Standards
Some unit standards with Fasset's scope are due to expire shortly. We are expecting that they will be re-registered, but that has not been confirmed. Consequently, assessors and moderators re-registering for such unit standard will only receive a letter stating their registration status and not a certificate. Certificates will only be issued once the unit standards are re-registered.
Fasset Tender Bulletin
Fasset procures a number and variety of services in the course of achieving its objectives. All procurement to a value greater than R50 000 is advertised on our website and we advise prospective service providers to regularly check the Tender Bulletin section for new information relating to Fasset's service requirements.
Fraud Prevention
In order to assist Fasset in giving effect to our Fraud Prevention Plan, we encourage all stakeholders to make use of the Fasset Tip Offs Hotline 0800 205 054 to notify Fasset of any suspected fraudulent activities impacting on Fasset.
