A reminder that the all-important Mandatory Grant application deadline of 30 June 2013 is fast approaching. Be sure to submit your application on time in order to qualify for the 20% refund on your Skills Development Levy (SDL).

Delay in Grant Payments
Owing to a delay in SDL payments from SARS, the May 2013 grant payment run has been delayed until further notice.
Mandatory Grant Application
The Mandatory Grant forms for 2013/2014 are now available. Click here to download the application forms. As the grant deadline for 2013 falls on a Sunday, Fasset offices will be closed on 29 and 30 June 2013. Employers must ensure that the applications are hand-delivered by 16h00 on Friday 28 June 2013. Should employers wish to submit the form on 29 or 30 June 2013, the document must be faxed or emailed to Fasset using the details provided.
Online Mandatory Grant Submissions
Applicants for the Mandatory Grant may submit the grant online; however Fasset still requires a signed copy of the application in order to approve the grant. Click here to capture your grant online.
Introducing a Pivotal Grant
Fasset will refund employers up to 49.5% of the Skills Development Levy (SDL) for the education and training of employed and unemployed people on learnerships, internships, or those completing qualifications from NQF level 1 to 10 or levels of undergraduate qualifications. A maximum of 29.5% can be claimed for pivotal programmes implemented with White, Indian and Coloured learners, and non-South Africans. Any unutilised portion of the 29.5% and an additional 20% of the SDL may be claimed for African Black learners on pivotal programmes. Click here for more detail on the Pivotal Grant.
Internship Accreditation
Organisations that run internships can have them accredited. Interns on accredited internship programmes can be claimed on the Pivotal grant. Click here to download the accreditation application.
