Unleashing your Innovation and Creativity - November to December 2009 |
| |
Fasset’s Innovation and Creativity workshop will be held countrywide in November and December 2009 and will equip participants with skills, tools and insight that will enable them to unlock their own creativity and that of others. By working on individual problems, delegates will learn how to take novel ideas through into action plans, enabling them to enhance both strategies and operations in their own and in their clients’ firms.
Individuals in finance, science and academia are highly skilled in analytical problem-solving. However, problems that require new ways of doing things are usually solved more effectively by first using creative thinking skills, then using analytical skills to select ideas and work on implementation. This workshop will provide insight on how to look for solutions to problems in creative ways, and how to create a climate that unlocks innovation. The importance of making time for thinking, and the return of investment an individual can get from this process, will be demonstrated.
Course Outline
The workshop is designed to meet the above needs by identifying features of recent developments that are specifically relevant to small and medium-sized firms. The workshop will focus on individual development and will highlight the use of creative thinking skills to enhance analytical thinking skills. Professionals at an operational level in their organisation and those with decision – making responsibilities will find this workshop specifically useful. The workshop will be highly participative, and delegates will work on their own tasks and share experiences as they learn new skills.
Fasset’s half–day Innovation and Creativity workshop aims to create an awareness and understanding of the key factors that promote innovation and creativity in a business, and to equip delegates with proven practical skills and tools to foster innovation in their own firms and in those of their clients. The topics covered will include but are not limited to:
Understanding creativity and innovation and the various decision–making styles
Creating a climate that fosters innovation and creativity
DIY – practical tools and techniques to generate new ideas
Turning novel ideas into action plans
Applying the tools to strategies and operations back in the workplace
