Pivotal Grant 2013/2014
Fasset is offering a Pivotal Grant (PG) which is a special skills initiative grant enabling employers to claim back a maximum of
49.5% of their Skills Development Levy (SDL) (subject to restrictions if oversubscription of the grant occurs) if they undertook education and training interventions in certain strategic priority areas for the financial year 2013/2014 from 1 January to 31 December 2013.
The PG is a new discretionary grant at Fasset; however the grant is based on the Strategic Cash Grant (SCG) which has been offered to the sector in the past. This grant is capped at
49.5% of the SDL. A maximum of 29.5% can be claimed for pivotal programmes implemented with White, Indian and Coloured learners, and non-South Africans. Any unutilised portion of the
29.5% and an additional 20% of the SDL may be claimed for African Black learners on pivotal programmes.
The following programmes (defined as Pivotal Programmes) are applicable to this grant:
- Specific learners who have registered on or completed Learnerships
- Academic and Professional Study to specific employed and unemployed learners who have successfully completed a course of study at recognised institutions or professional bodies
- Quality-Assured and Structured Workplace Experience where specific learners enter or complete full-time, on-the-job training (non-Learnership)
