Fasset Making Best Practice Count Awards 2008
Fasset believes it is important to showcase best practice and to celebrate success. By showcasing best practice, Fasset hopes to disseminate best practice very broadly within the sector, enabling organisations to benchmark themselves, while at the same time, encouraging the sector as a whole, to raise the bar even higher in the training and people development arena.
For this reason, Fasset launched its Making Best Practice Count Awards in 2008 in line with the Department of Labour’s National Skills Development Good Practice Awards on 17 September 2008. Awards were conferred by Fasset in two categories: Best Practice in a large employer and Best Practice in a medium-sized employer.
Best Practice in a Large Employer Category
Applicants in this category were:
- Anglo American
- Deloitte
- Ernst & Young
Winner in this category is: Ernst & Young.
Best Practice in a Medium-sized Employer
- Guarantee Trust
- SAB&T
- Silica
Winner in this category is: Silica Financial Administration.
Employers in the sector do South Africa proud and the calibre of submissions was impressive. Employers in our sector have a real passion and commitment to training and people development. If replicated across all sectors, this enthusiasm and passion for training and people could fuel the skills revolution in South Africa.
Fasset’s best practice award winners, Silica for medium employers and Ernst & Young for larger employers, were honoured and awarded at the NSDS conference gala dinner by the Honourable Minister of Labour, Membathisi Mdladlana on 16 October 2008.
